Facebook to Team with Nielsen on Ad Measurement

Fighting the growing perception in advertising circles that social network advertising doesn’t work, Facebook is set to announce a partnership with ratings giant Nielson tomorrow called “Brand Lift.” The new partnership will poll and measure Facebook users on ads they see on the social network, and provide advertisers with much needed ROI analysis.

Apple’s App Store Reaches 1.8 Billion Downloads

Among the many announcements from Apple this week, Steve Jobs revealed that the Apple App Store has served up 1.8 billion downloads since its launch little more than a year ago. The store now boasts more than 75,000 applications for the 30 million iPhones sold by Apple to date. Certainly, the App Store has been one the biggest e-commerce success stories of the past year, and shows no sings of slowing down.

Brasilian E-Commerce Revenues Up 27% First Half of 2009

E-Commerce revenues from Brazilian retailers are up a surprising 27% for the first half of 2009, according to consulting group e-bit. Surprising because it was beyond the consulting firm’s own rosy projections, and evidently the global financial crisis has not dampened Brazilians from clicking and buying.


What does this mean to you? Brushing up on your Portuguese and doing some keyword research in that market. Google Insights for Search shows some nice potential for “perder a barriga” (loose belly), while the Google AdWords Keyword Tool shows “perder gordura barriga” (loose fat belly) with 1,600 monthly searches and only a $0.05 average cost per click.


Brazil is quickly becoming a desirable market for online offers that are too competitive in The States.
