Google Domestic Trends Hits Google Finance

Google launched a new service within Google Finance called Google Domestic Trends, which tracks Google search traffic across 23 specific sectors of the economy. Can it predict economic activity? That’s the theory, but it remains to be seen. All of the data can be downloaded, though, so data modeling wonks rejoice.

Brasilian E-Commerce Revenues Up 27% First Half of 2009

E-Commerce revenues from Brazilian retailers are up a surprising 27% for the first half of 2009, according to consulting group e-bit. Surprising because it was beyond the consulting firm’s own rosy projections, and evidently the global financial crisis has not dampened Brazilians from clicking and buying.


What does this mean to you? Brushing up on your Portuguese and doing some keyword research in that market. Google Insights for Search shows some nice potential for “perder a barriga” (loose belly), while the Google AdWords Keyword Tool shows “perder gordura barriga” (loose fat belly) with 1,600 monthly searches and only a $0.05 average cost per click.


Brazil is quickly becoming a desirable market for online offers that are too competitive in The States.
